Blunders From World Leaders When They Think They're in Private
Recently, Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto thought he was having a private conversation with US President Donald Trump during Middle East peace talks in Egypt.
However, a hot-mic incident revealed Prabowo requesting Trump to arrange a meeting with his son Don Jr, who hold positions at the family business.
It represented only one in a string of missteps made by world leaders thinking they're off the record.
Below are several additional memorable blunders:
Organ Transplants and Immortality
At a military parade in Beijing in early autumn, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russia's head Vladimir Putin were overheard talking about organ replacement as a approach for extending lifespan.
"Human organs can be repeatedly replaced. The more you extend your life, the younger you become, and you can even achieve immortality," Putin's interpreter was recorded stating.
Xi, who was off camera, responded in Chinese: "Experts forecast that in this century people may live to 150 years old."

'Sea Rising at Your Door'
Former Australian immigration minister Peter Dutton faced criticism in 2015 when he joked about the plight of people in the Pacific experiencing ocean encroachment.
Dutton was conversing with former PM Tony Abbott, who had recently come back from climate change talks with regional heads in Port Moresby.
Noting that a migration discussion was running on "delayed schedule", Abbott replied: "There was a similar situation up in Port Moresby."
Dutton commented: "Schedules become irrelevant when you're about to have water lapping at your door."
These remarks sparked outrage from Pacific Islands and environmentalists, while the opposition Labor party demanded Dutton to issue an apology.

'Prejudiced Voter'
While serving as UK PM Gordon Brown was on the trail in 2010, he encountered a constituent who challenged him on migration and the economic situation.
Remaining connected to a broadcast microphone when he got into his vehicle, Brown was recorded stating: "That went terribly – they should never have put me with that woman. Who thought of that? Ridiculous."
Asked what she had said, he replied: "Everything, she was just a prejudiced person."
The scandal received extensive coverage for an extended period and Brown went on to lose the election.
'I Can't Stand Netanyahu. He Lies.'
Former US president Barack Obama was in discussion at the G20 summit in Cannes in 2011 with France's leader Nicolas Sarkozy when their remarks about Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu were picked up by a active recording device.
Sarkozy stated: "I can't stand Netanyahu. He deceives."
According to a account from a translator quoted by Reuters, Obama replied: "You're fed up with him but I must work with him frequently than you."
'Major League ***hole'
A vintage recording incident from then US presidential candidate George W. Bush occurred when he made a disparaging remark about a journalist from The New York Times.
The GOP candidate was didn't realize that a recording device was active when he turned to Dick Cheney at a Labor Day rally and said, "There's Adam Clymer, complete jerk from the New York Times."
Cheney responded: "Oh yeah, that's true, big time."
